I have been doing some reading and I would like to pose a question to you. Ever feel like you’re constantly chasing tiny milestones, never quite reaching that big picture dream? You’re not alone! Gary Keller, in his book “The Millionaire Real Estate Agent,” along with Jenks and Jay Papasan, makes a fascinating point about goal setting: Small goals might hold you back, while big dreams can propel you forward!
Here’s why: Imagine setting a goal to run a marathon. Small goals might involve running a mile a day. Sure, you’ll achieve them quickly, but where’s the excitement? Where’s the momentum that pushes you beyond your comfort zone?
Big, ambitious goals are the answer. Well, they take a lot of initial thrust, but once that momentum builds, you might just zoom past all those smaller milestones on your way to something truly incredible.
Think about it: while you’re focused on crushing that marathon, you might surprise yourself by qualifying for a half-marathon, or even a full one!
So, ditch the tiny steps and set your sights on the stars! Big goals might seem daunting at first, but they have the power to ignite a fire within you, propelling you towards achievements you never thought possible.
I am not saying that small steps are irrelevant. Of course, they are as important as the big goals. What I mean is, don’t remain in the comfort zone with the small steps. Once you build consistency, then aim higher and dream bigger.
Remember, it’s all about focus. When your eyes are on the prize, the smaller hurdles become stepping stones, not roadblocks. So, what are you waiting for? Set those big, audacious goals and watch yourself soar!
By the way, I have made The Millionaire Real Estate Agent my favourite book. I am tapping some nuggets of wisdom to build my portfolio and enhance my paradigm shift into becoming the best sales agent I can be. Try it out and join me in this journey of discovery.
